Meitheal is a model for local services, community groups and professionals to work together with parents to give children and young people the best possible start. The model is called “Meitheal” after the Irish term that describes how neighbours come together to help in times of need. By bringing all the services that are important to a child or family together, a Meitheal can ensure that the needs and strengths of children and their families are effectively identified, understood and responded to in a timely and coordinated way.
