Yesterday brought an end to the 5th and 6th class GAA league which has been running since September. Captain Aoife, accepted the cup on behalf of her team as ‘Galway’ ran out overall winners. She accepted the cup from Neal Farry who the trophies are named after. This is in recognition of Neal’s huge commitment to sport and in particular Gaelic Games in Ballymote Boys NS, Scoil Mhuire gan Smál and Ballymote GAA. Sean Stagg represented Ballymote GAA club on the day and kindly supplied all the children with goodie bags after the games. A huge thank you must go to Sligo Coaching and Games and in particular Liam Óg Gormley and Pat Kilcoyne for their efforts. The league would not have been possible without the help of of Coláiste Muire TY students who referreed throughout the league. Finally thank you and well done to all our boys and girls for taking part over the last two months. We hope you enjoyed it!
