There is a lovely buzz around the school at the moment with things feeling like they are getting back to normal. Hand washing and sanitizing is still being practiced by all children and staff. vCovid-19 hasn’t completely gone from our minds. Below is a snapshot of things that are going on in the school at the moment.

Swimming was back for 5th class on Tuesday and continues for another four weeks.

1st and 2nd class finished up their Music Generation Programme yesterday. The infants finished up the programme last week.

GAA coaching (Infants – 4th class) and the GAA league (5th and 6th class) continues today (Thursday) and will finish up next Thursday.

Avril will be here tomorrow to finish off the programme ‘Healthy Me’ with Ms. Hunt’s 6th class. https://www.donegalyouthservice.ie/dys-projects/our-generation/

Rachel Quinn Ceramics will be with Ms. Rock’s 5th/6th class tomorrow. This is their last session with Rachel. Ms. O’Gara’s 5th class had their two sessions earlier this month and Ms. Hunt’s class had their sessions at the end of February/beginning of March.

3rd Class will be going down to the library to change their books tomorrow.

The school will close next Wednesday 25th May at 12:30pm and Wednesday 8th June at 12:30pm. These half-day closures are necessary to facilitate staff engagement with the Primary Language Curriculum.

4th class are holding a Jumble Sale on Friday 27th May. Donations are needed, they can be dropped to the office or your child can bring them into school.

4th class will be going swimming next Thursday 26th May (a once off session to get them used to the water before their school tour to Baysports)

School tours are currently being organised and parents/guardians will be informed shortly.

On another note, Ballymote Community Games Athletics will take place on Saturday 28th May at 5pm on the GAA pitch. Ballymote area swimming will now take place on Saturday 9th July (this is a change to the date previously mentioned by the committee)
